The Palm Garden Retreat enjoys a tranquil garden setting in easy walking distance of shops, restaurants and the beach and this combination of quiet privacy and communal living carries through into the Palm Garden Retreat. You can enjoy the privacy and peace and quiet of your own unit, or you can join in the many activities, which have been designed for your stimulation and enjoyment:

- Exercise room with classes such as Pilates, stretching and yoga
- Mini theatre with large screen TV for special movies on Saturday evenings
- Shuttle Service to the Waterfront available on request

- Email service to enable those without computers to keep in touch with friends and relatives

Where applicable these activities will carry a charge to cover costs. When you choose to participate in these activities this charge, if any, will be added to your monthly account with the Palm Gardens.
Health Care Staffing
Nursing Manager
An experienced Nursing Sister, is responsible for the control of the nursing operation, including staff, administration and nursing.
- Her nursing duties include the following:
- Obtain and update the medical records of all residents, e.g. medication, Illnesses, GP/Specialists’ details
- Recruit, train and manage nursing staff
- Set required nursing standards
- Monitor and assess all staff as per job descriptions
- Control medicines
- Visit assisted living residents on a regular basis
- Operate clinic weekdays only
- Manage frail care facility
- Provide 24-hour emergency response
Nursing Staff and Care Givers
The level of experience of the nursing staff is a key factor in making appointments.
All Sisters, Staff Nurses and Enrolled Nursing Assistants have standard training, as well as specialised training in Geriatrics. All Care Givers have training and knowledge of basic nursing.
